The new Masters course (a Nicklaus Legacy course) comes from a 2010 redesign by Jack Nicklaus II of the former Lake (South) course. The Forest (North) course was originally designed by Peter Thomson.

Lake Malaren
Lake Malaren Golf Club, located in the northern suburbs of Shanghai, is a well-rated golf venue offering 36 holes of championship golf on its Masters (formerly South/Lake) and North/Forest courses. These predominantly tree-lined and open parkland layouts should not disappoint, with many attractive features and several excellent holes to enjoy.
The Masters course is the bigger dimension of the two and has hosted top level competitions including the European Tour's BMW Masters championship. This Nicklaus Design course incorporates plenty of dramatic bunkering as well as fairway-hugging sandy waste areas and lakes.
The open parkland has been crafted so as to create a links-style appearance, with longer fescues often found atop the gently rolling mounds that separate the good-width gently undulating fairways. Definitely worth including on your itinerary if you are in the area.

North Forest course welcomes visitors. The Masters course is operated as a members course (although accessible by guests of the Lake Malaren Crowne Plaza Hotel).

Here at Prince’s Golf Club you'll find 27 excellent holes of links golf. Just over the fence and sharing similar terrain is Royal St George’s; but Prince’s is far from overshadowed by its venerable neighbour. The three nine-hole loops at Prince's, laid out over gently undulating terrain, are sure to bring a smile of satisfaction to all lovers of links golf.
