Coamo Springs' Director of Golf, Jesus Rodriguez, is the younger brother of the late legendary Hall of Famer, Chi Chi Rodriguez. Jesus also enjoyed a successful career as a professional golfer, on one occasion winning in Japan on the same day Chi Chi was winning a PGA Tour event in the US.

The two-story hotel occupies a restored colonial-style building dating from 1847, with modern motel-style buildings also in the grounds.
