Victoria Golf Club is home to the oldest 18-hole golf course in Canada in its original location. Here you'll find a championship golf course that ranks with some of the best in Canada. Exuding a mix of top-quality parkland and seaside golf, this predominantly open layout provides a wonderful test for your all-round game. "Mac" Macan's layout contains many attractive, skilfully crafted and challenging holes to enjoy, not least those that sidle up to the seashore.
Most of the seaside excitement comes on the front-nine, as you play the holes lying south of Beach Drive. By contrast, and to the north of this relatively quiet residential road, there's much more of a parkland feel to the flatter back-nine. Throughout, excellent bunkering and wonderful sea views abound.
Pick of the holes: as you "make the turn" on this out-and-back layout, you'll find back-to-back par-3s at 8 and 9. The ninth tee dramatically sits out on Gonzales Point, the waves of the Strait of Juan de Fuca (Salish Sea), lapping all around. The par-4 5th and 7th holes are also played directly alongside the rocky seashore.
Limited access: this private course is generally playable only by members and their invited guests.
Private club; generally visitors/guests may only play if hosted by a member. Contact club for playing possibilities as an unaccompanied guest.
Open all year.
Walking permitted at all times. Golf carts available to rent. Caddies available.

The Victoria Golf Club, founded in 1893, is the oldest 18-hole golf course in Canada in its original location, and second oldest in North America. The course began as 14 holes but quickly expanded to a full 18 in 1895. There have been at least three different layouts - the one played today was finalised in the mid-1920s. The stately clubhouse, completed in 1928, is a registered Canadian Historic Place. It has undergone a number of expansions and renovations, including the most recent in 1993.
