Mill River
Mill River Golf Course: Located directly alongside the good-width Mill River, just before it flows out into Casumpec Bay, the resort offers an enjoyable Stay&Play opportunity on PEI's North Cape. Although often overshadowed by its sister courses (Crowbush Cove, Dundarave and Brudenell River) in the east of PEI, Mill River also lays down a pleasantly testing golfing challenge.
The out-and-back layout, containing plenty of undulation and elevation changes, meanders through a mix of tree-lined and more open areas. The par-5 2nd, par-3 3rd and especially par-4 4th holes get you closest to the river, although a few less trees on this stretch might enhance the river views.
Water hazards feature at four or five holes, most threateningly at the par-4 7th. From an elevated tee, you'll look down onto a fairway split in two by a meandering stream that connects a series of small ponds. A very precise tee-shot to left or right is needed here; anything "down the middle" will likely be wet. Whereas some holes are characterised by tighter bunkerless fairways, many others are more generous and more strongly bunkered.
Well maintained and presented, this modern well-crafted design offers an excellent variety of holes, laid out in a delightfully natural environment. You may not get riverside as often as you'd hope, but the surrounding woodland and pleasant open countryside ensures a picturesque backdrop to this enjoyable course.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.
Walking permitted. Golf carts available to rent.
