The Victoria Golf Club

5-star: Fabulous – courses don’t get much better than this.

Est. 1903

The Victoria Golf Club: Falling into the enchanted world of Victoria Golf Club will surely provide some of the most memorable moments of any golfing trip to the Melbourne area. This course is one of Australia's best, and the clubhouse surely one of the country's smartest.

The golf course here is fabulous by any definition. The gently undulating terrain has been adorned with trees of numerous varieties. The bunkers are unforgettably huge (and golf-ball magnetic). They are often cut right up to the edge of the greens ... and then some. There's a spring in the fairways, and the greens themselves are usually lightning fast ... a minimal amount of grass is cut to its very roots! The layout brings together all these ingredients into one excellent hole after another - the only thing missing (you'll be glad to here) are any water hazards.

Like other courses on the Melbourne sandbelt, a couple of roads run alongside parts of the course perimeter, but any traffic noise simply melts away as you fall under Victoria's spellbinding charms.
