Links Lady Bay
The Links Lady Bay Resort: About 70 km south of Adelaide, and set beneath picturesque, grass-covered rolling hills, the Links Lady Bay course provides one of South Australia's most enjoyable and scenic golf outings.
As an integral part of the Links Lady Bay Resort, with a Grand Mercure hotel on site, this is an excellent coastal location at which to relax and enjoy your game.
The links-style layout, set less than a kilometre back from the ocean, is classically open, with rolling fairways and many swales, bumps and hollows built into the pleasantly undulating terrain. Rustic looking brown-sand bunkering and large, undulating greens with slick run-off areas all adds to the links golf experience.
The generally good-width fairways will be enjoyed by long hitters, although go too far offline and uncompromising grassy rough awaits in the mounds that line the holes. Although some housing is planned for the future, it won't detract from the general feeling of breezy openness, which is complemented by wonderful views onto the shimmering ocean and folding hills.
This pleasantly challenging layout, with some easier-going holes and others decidedly less so, benefits from excellent quality maintenance and presentation. Well worth the journey south from Adelaide, especially if you plan to stay a day or two and sample the local estate wine as well.
