Stone Valley, Vietnam
Stone Valley Golf Resort (in Vietnamese Sân Golf Kim Bảng): Around an hour's drive south of Hanoi, the first stages of this inland golf and resort development are now in place. Many accolades are being heaped on Brian Curley's 18-hole course design, with another 18 holes slated for the near future. The golf is to be complemented by a resort villa area.
The golf course occupies a picturesque 200-hectare valley, which is surrounded by jungle-clad hills and folding ridges, interspersed with dramatic pop-up limestone hills. Although the site offers several dramatic elevation changes, the master craftsmanship of Brian Curley ensures a walkable course has been created.
The front-nine loop is characterised by a flatter, broader valley, where water and rock features play their part. Some holes have exposed sharp-edged rocks resembling lava fields.
In contrast, the back-nine climbs into steeper terrain, from where you can enjoy views across the course. The layout builds to a fabulous finish, with the last four holes playing from the highest elevations, which offer spectacular mountain and valley views. The par-3 17th and long par-4 18th four eighteenth play around the original quarry site.
Visitors welcome on weekdays and weekends.
Must book in advance.

Stone Valley was developed by the Truong An Golf Company as their first golf course in Vietnam. The near-200 hectare site lies in a region known for river tours that weave through valleys between jungle-clad mountains. The area has served as the location for feature films, including King Kong.
The Masters: The 88th Masters Tournament at Augusta National sees LIV golfer Jon Rahm defend his title against the world’s best. Pressing hard will be world No.1 and 2022 champion Scottie Scheffler and world No.2 Rory McIlroy (April 11-14).
Chevron Championship: the women’s major championship season gets underway for the second year at its new Carlton Woods home outside Houston, Texas. World No.2 Lilia Vu defends (April 18-21).
Nelly Korda: records a perfect start to 2024 with five wins out of her last five starts on the LPGA Tour. Winning the Chevron Championship also brought the second major championship win of her career.
Scottie Scheffler: narrowly missed out on matching Nelly Korda's five wins in five starts, when he placed second at the Houston Open. Either side of that, he won The Arnold Palmer, The Players, and then The Masters and The Heritage.
Marco Simone Golf & Country Club: With a clubhouse that might befit a Roman Emperor, and a golf course to match, you can be sure of a memorable outing at Rome's most talked about golf facility.
Jim Fazio's original layout was much changed to create a modern Ryder Cup course ... now one of the Eternal City's (and Italy's) most revered.
